Couldn't make it up - I just got stopped & asked for my driving licence at a check point - by two PSNI cops .
Tom & Perri from Peelers .
I have lodged a complaint with the Ombudsman.
Entirely unsurprised by Jon Burrows’ rise in popularity. His performance up to now shows him to be intelligent, concise, persuasive and, most of all, sincere. He is likeable, energetic, and confident. An asset to both Unionism and Northern Ireland. The challenge will be translating all of that into votes for the UUP. The electoral fortune of the party will ultimately define his tenure, more than any popularity poll. On that front, the UUP have a job of work to be done.
@MrRCain2 No it's not every 7 years, it's no sooner than 7 years. The last one was 53 years ago, (which you lost) that isnt any sooner than 7 years, so it's possible to be 50 years or more before 2 more happen. Are you starting to understand what no sooner than 7 years means yet, dafty?
Just remember everyone. If the first border poll wasn't successful then we get one every 7 years. Basically after the first one Unionism is fucked 🫵✅🇮🇪📢📢
@MrRCain2 Can and must be called is 2 entirely different things. And certainky doesn't mean it happens every 7 years as you erroneously claimed in your original tweet. What part of that are you struggling with?
@MrRCain2 So it's the definition of the word "Minimum" you're struggling with?
Back to my original advice it is then. Ask an adult to explain to you what "minimum" means.
And you clowns think you're bilingual?
Ffs master your mother tongue first before trying to learn hobby languages.
@Disturbedapple The seven-year minimum interval is set out in UK domestic law that implements the Agreement: the Northern Ireland Act 1998, specifically Schedule 1 ("Polls for the purposes of section 1"), paragraph 3🫵🤡✅
@sukibones1@moneillsf In your opinion perhaps, but im not the one taking maternity leave from secondary school because I've had more dickends than weekends, nor is my family full of murdering bastards, nor do I praise murdering bastards, there were alternatives. She's the disgusting cunt, imo.
💜 An absolute joy to speak with 800 young women from across 60 schools at the Waterfront Hall to celebrate the SistersIN programme.
A truly incredible and inspiring group of young women who I have no doubt will go on to do amazing things in life and be future leaders in our society.
SistersIN is an amazing mentoring programme that supports and empowers young women, and it was a joy to witness that impact firsthand as a mentor this year! 👏🏻
@thejteamloyal@Carson1872_ Any Protestant, especially one who is a Unionist, with more than 2 braincells wouldn't support Israel. Learn your history you absolute bellend.
@siubhanoc@ConorWilli3657@atrupar@grok Reunification? Ireland has only ever been united under British rule, are you saying ROI is going to give up its independence from Britain?
Trump: "Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, and you get along so well. I don't know if I should be promoting mergers. I love mergers but we're gonna get in a little trouble. We're gonna get in more trouble with that."
☘️ Delighted to join the local community in Kinturk today for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations!
The finest thing about St. Patrick’s Day is how it brings communities together, at home and across the world, to celebrate all that makes us proud of our Irish culture and heritage.
Wishing everyone a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day! 💚
@partikthist@DarranMarshall Ah, so sectarianism is at the heart of the argument for irish language schools according to you is it? Now the mask is slipping.
@Disturbedapple@DarranMarshall Well those that'll be 7811 more children gaining educational qualifications compared to uneducated loyalist bonfire building nethanderals
@annie_mcginley@DarranMarshall so just to be sure there is no confusion does your claim that Gaelscoileanna is amongst the top performing schools exclude ROI?
Also when you say amongst the top performing, exactly where do they sit in performance tables? Can't be top, if they're only "amongst" the top.
@Disturbedapple@DarranMarshall Let’s clear up the confusion on exam marks.
In the ROI: Students sitting the LC in Irish can receive up to a 10% bonus on their marks.
In NI: There are NO extra marks for students sitting GCSEs or A-Levels in Irish.
The grading is identical to English-language papers !
@annie_mcginley@DarranMarshall Its impossible to take such tables of achievements seriously with such a tiny sample of the population. Also there are bonus marks of 3% to 10% given to these schools,so youre not really comparing like for like.
Anybody can pass an exam if they are marked up by 10% ffs.
@Disturbedapple@DarranMarshall Yet Gaelscoileanna are now recognized as some of the top-performing non-fee-paying schools in terms of university progression.
Surely that is impressive in any man's language !
@newsoncool@allianceparty@naomi_long@jamesgould23 What she means is they have been found out and are finding it too hard to pretend to be competent enough for government. At least she's wise enough to realise the game is up.
💥⚠️NEW: Alliance Party could walk away from the Executive - “Don’t take our seat at the table for granted.”
🎥🎤@allianceparty Leader @naomi_long sitting down with Chief Reporter @jamesgould23.
It comes ahead of the party’s conference on Saturday.
She details frustrations with how the Executive operates, concerns also raised by her colleague, Minister @AndrewMuirNI.
Naomi Long says the DUP and Sinn Féin “set the agenda” and believes parties like Alliance and the @uuponline sometimes have to make more compromises than others.
She also reveals there have been discussions about walking away from the Executive but says, for now, the balance remains in favour of staying.
More from the interview between now and Saturday.
Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly attended the launch of @thelinenhall exhibition which has been created, using the library’s extraORDINARY women archive, to address the issue of Ending Violence Against Women and Girls.
The deputy First Minister had the opportunity to view the exhibition and hear about the specially commissioned poetry and visual art pieces. Speaking at the event she congratulated all involved in bringing the innovative and creative initiative together.
