To base policy on amplified media narratives or emotional appeals, ignoring a proven track record of decline, is a dereliction of evidence-based governance. It undermines the very systems that achieved this success. We have a working model. The solution is to support it, not dismantle it based on manufactured fear. 🔬

The RTI response of AIIMS to dog bite data (though it is of May 2023) clearly indicate that the all India data of dog bites, which the SC is referring to and so are all the media, are all ‘jugaad’ numbers, much much hyped up from what actually is. In fact, these are not actual numbers at all, and much is extrapolated to the whole country from a small set of vaccinations, without having much knowledge that vaccination is not only for bites, much of it is for Pre Exposure Prophylaxis. What a travesty of justice meted out by SC. I discuss about the absolutely falsified and fudged data on which SC acted, the abuse of power by SC and the ridiculous lack of basic back of the hand economics by judges and Indians.
