I kept saying this beef was the most catastrophic for Hiphop in general. Drake out here doing everything for the love of the game : giving out verses, doing features, responding to diss tracks, Doing Collab albums, showing love/ cosigning upcoming rappers, putting n!ggas on his tour etc. And in 2024 it just became cool to hate on Drake and call him all sorts of disgusting names possible ? Lmao. In the Long run people will actually realise nothing good & long lasting came out of that beef.
Kurrco@Kurrco

Rick Ross addresses Drake and says that he doesn't want to see him lose 👀 "Drake, if you listening to this homie, listen to me. My n****, shine. I don't want to see you lose. No real n**** want to see you lose. That ain't what it's about. This culture, this game, this rap sh*t, this ain't what it's about..." "Real n****s just wanna see real n****s shine together." The risk assessment in this "bear vs man" discourse is fundamentally broken, and watching women confidently choose the bear is peak internet delusion. Y'all will meet up with anonymous Tinder matches every weekend, leave clubs with strange men just because they drive a luxury car, go home with celebrities from backstage, and voluntarily date literal drug lords. You take massive, unchecked risks with strange men every single day. But drop you in a hypothetical forest, and suddenly a man is more dangerous than a 600lb apex predator just so you can win a gender war argument? The performative IQ is completely in the mud. Please rest.

It’s not about the bear. It’s about why that feels safer.

I lived in Japan for a year. Most of my experiences were exhausting in ways I’d rather not get into, but this one still makes me laugh. I was on the train in Osaka, minding my own business, when I noticed a group of school kids a few seats down. They were whispering, glancing at me, then whispering again. They kept passing a folded piece of paper between them as if they were planning something top secret. I watched this go on for two stops. Finally, one of the kids was pushed forward by the others. He walked over to me slowly, like he was approaching a wild animal that might bite. He stopped right in front of me, bowed politely, and held out the folded paper with both hands. I opened it. Inside was a handwritten note in careful English: “Hello. We think you are a very cool person. We are practicing our English. We hope this note is correct. Please give us a score.” At the bottom, they had drawn a literal grading box, out of ten. I looked up. Seven pairs of eyes were staring at me as if their entire semester depended on my response. I pulled out a pen, wrote “10/10” in the box, and added a note: “Perfect English. Well done.” The boy carried it back to the group. They read it together… and absolutely lost their minds. High-fives, jumping, and one kid even pumped his fist in the air. Their teacher, who had been pretending not to watch from the end of the car, was biting her lip, trying hard not to smile. I rode the rest of the journey grinning to myself. That’s the Japan I always remember.

“Nigerian police officers have been warned not to search any individual’s phone. Anybody can record any police officer at his duty post. As long as the officer is doing the right thing, there is nothing to fear about being recorded. Police officers can also start recording their own activities.” — The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, says.

One of the most painful experience I have ever felt was when I went to Abuja last month I requested uber from my apartment to get food. Trip cost was 2500 naira. Uber guy arrived and decided to branch filling station to buy fuel before heading to destination… He asked for 5k fuel and I was quite surprised he asked for a fuel that small considering his tank was empty empty. I asked him why so and he said country is hard and he was struggling. So I asked the fuel guys to fill up his tank which cost approx 70k. In addition to that I also gave him 50k as a gift. He told me I should always feel free to contact him if I ever need a ride and I asked if he was free next day cos my flight was for 7am. He said sure. Next day he picked me up and dropped me off and to my greatest suprise man asked me to pay double the fare to airport because ‘he picked me up early’ My life flashed twice. I couldn’t believe what I heard. Humans are ungrateful and tbh everyday I am reminded that the major reason some people are far from their blessings is simply because they are unwilling to make sacrifices or just simply pain greedy. Till today I still have that flashback and I get angry over again when I remember it. Not exactly angry because of the money given because I mean I did so with zero expectation and will do so again and again but because it hurts soo much that said young man just lost a beautiful opportunity to know me better and probably get an opportunity to work with me beyond that day. GREED sealed his fate It is well.

An interstate driver who couldn't sleep properly at night because no way to power the small standing fan that helps keep off mosquitoes in his apartment sits behind the steering in the morning with 18 passengers in his bus. The cool morning breeze caresses his face as he drives, he dozes off and veers off his lane into an oncoming private air-conditioned car of a man who had a good night's rest and taking his kids to school. 18 passengers dead. The man taking his kids to school losses both legs. Kids dead. If one isn't you, the other could be. You have no idea how much bad governance puts you at risk every day.

Not having stable electricity means that your water supply would be epileptic and so you wouldn’t be able to take showers with your partner because you’re managing water. This means that you’d have nobody to help you wash your back and your back will be dirty. This might cause friction in the bedroom when your partner is kissing your back and they taste dirt. Get your PVC, we have to vote this party out so your relationship can be saved.

one of the main arguments ye was making in his bi-polar rants against Jews was that they control everything including finance, media and black music artists. Sorry but doesn’t him loosing endorsements, having his assets frozen, being banned from travelling and having concerts cancelled reinforce the perception that they do indeed control everything?

Do you remember in The Lion King when scar told the hyenas if they helped him become king he will make their lives better and then their lives didn’t get better and he blamed them for it. And upon realizing this, the hyenas ate him. Do with that story what you will.

Cillian Murphy said yes to Oppenheimer before he’d read a single page of the script. Nolan flew to Dublin to hand him a copy, printed on red paper so it couldn’t be photocopied. From that point on Murphy disappeared for six months. He dropped about 28 pounds, ate so little that Emily Blunt said it was “like, one almond” most nights, and skipped every single cast dinner. Matt Damon said they invited him every night. He never came. He was in the bath learning lines. He read American Prometheus, the Pulitzer-winning biography the film was based on. He read the Bhagavad Gita, a Hindu holy text that Oppenheimer quoted after watching the first nuclear bomb test. Then he found old recordings of the real Oppenheimer giving physics lectures and started walking beaches near his home in Ireland, reciting them out loud to his dog Scout. At one point he hit a scene where Oppenheimer gives a lecture in Dutch. He asked Nolan what they’d do about it. Nolan: “You mean what are YOU going to do about that.” So Murphy got the film’s cinematographer, who happens to be Dutch, to record the lines into his phone. Slowed the audio way down. Spent three weeks memorizing the whole thing. Robert Downey Jr. said the rest of the cast would plan weekend trips around Santa Fe while Murphy would just go, “I have to learn 30,000 words of Dutch. Have a nice time.” The weight loss got competitive. His own words: “You become competitive with yourself a little bit, which is not healthy. I don’t advise it.” During the 57-day shoot he pulled 18-hour days and said he hit a zone where food just stopped mattering. Nolan kept the air conditioning cranked during the interrogation scenes because the character is being humiliated, and Murphy was so hungry and so cold it actually helped the performance. The real Oppenheimer lived the same way. Ran on cigarettes and double-strength martinis. Throat cancer killed him at 62. Murphy’s wife Yvonne once described what happens when a character finally leaves him. Her words from his years playing Tommy Shelby on Peaky Blinders: “OK. Tommy’s gradually leaving. I’m getting Cillian back.” Murphy puts it his own way. “I cancel reality for a while.” Oppenheimer won 7 Oscars and pulled in $950 million at the box office. It gave Murphy his first Best Actor win after decades in the business. So when a doctor asks how he copes with playing deeply traumatized characters and he laughs and calls being a doctor “a real job,” he means every word. The job costs him six months inside someone else’s head, a body he has to starve into someone else’s shape, and a family that has to wait for him to come home.

Cillian Murphy once got asked by a doctor how he copes with playing such deeply traumatized characters, and his response was: “You’re a doctor? See, now that’s a real job”
