@DmitriMakes @ChristianHeiens It’s strange you’re basically violating your uniform code by tweeting political positions in uniform. Someone should prob tell the USMC about your behavior.

Being in DC in person yesterday, where an estimated 300,000+ people were on the National Mall despite suffering through both a heat wave and a thunderstorm, has helped me better realize something that I had known all along, but which I rarely ever had first-hand evidence to confirm. All these people do is lie about everything for the sole purpose of demoralizing their ideological enemies.

The Great American Fair has been pretty busy; people are lining up to get back in! It was shut down earlier for too many heat casualties.

The problem with pardoning student loans, is it incentivizes the very worst behaviors and punishes people who made good decisions

@bubbleboi they just cut the big crystal in half down the long edge, which creates the taiwanese subway™. then they cut off one (1) single long wafer from each half of the sub and cut that into even squares. the other 99.9% goes to the glass factory where they make microsoft windows.

I'm telling you, you just have to completely ignore women when they talk about stuff like this, you'll hear them say "ew I would kms if an ugly/short/whatever guy even TALKED to me" then you meet their new boyfriend the next week and he's the goofiest looking cartoon character mfer you've ever seen and she'll be like "isn't he soooo hot"
tobias@ibeonherelying

I’m so deeply grateful that I am extremely vain when it comes to the appearance of my romantic partners the propaganda around loving ugly men will never penetrate the boundary of protection my female ancestors bestowed on me.

This doesn't work(generally) The SSID isn't the only thing about the device being broadcast; just like not every john smith is the same person; not every wifi network of the same name is the same device. Also don't forget authentication.

@_Stocko_ @yacineMTB Most of engineering isn't groundbreaking, it's gluing together tried and true processes in a barely novel manner. The fundamentals are ancient.

@yacineMTB we've gotten this far bc the average engineer it replaces is also bad at doing anything novel or making any decisions

LLMs are so ludicrously bad at doing anything novel or making any decisions. It's remarkable. I can't believe how far we've gotten on making something useful without actually.. solving it

My parents don't do this, and I like to send them screenshots of posts like this and thank them for being such amazing parents and examples for their generation. You have my sympathies.

@wanted4mogging I actually just did one of these myself. People complained about one year notice, and the person with the highest agency will be the one stuck planning. That's what you get for being the leader though

Last night I met: - A new mover to NH working in tech at a large defense company - A first-time visitor to NH with a math PhD who wants to move here - A first-time visitor who's been a Libertarian Party officer for a long time and is now considering NH - A man who said he was inspired to run for office in NH via X and that he would win by facemogging his opponent (he could) Our future is so bright

@ArtemisConsort The real lesson of these polls to me is just how important campaigning and controlling the wording of referendum questions ends up being.

Some extremely profound words of wisdom from Alan Watts. "One day you'll realize you've already lived through some of the best days of your life and you didn't even know it at the time." "You were too busy chasing what's next, busy worrying about what's missing. Thinking happiness was something you'd arrive at one day." "But while you were waiting you were laughing with people who won't always be around. You were making memories in places you'll one day drive past and feel something you can't explain. You were standing in moments that didn't feel like the good old days until they were gone." "So stop waiting for life to start. You're already living it."
