The people of Grimsby are furious after local activist Active Patriot spotted an illegal migrant with a disturbing past living in a red tent just yards from the seafront. The man, seen standing casually with his hands in his pockets, was accused last year of sexually assaulting a vulnerable teenager on the exact same beach. The girl was watching the sunrise in the early hours when he approached her, she reportedly ran off in fear. Active Patriot, known for his no-nonsense community patrols, shared the footage with the message: WTF! Within hours, reports emerged that the same man had been attacked by locals and swiftly removed from the area by police. In a follow-up statement @ActivePatriotUK stressed: "This has nothing to do with me. I report on people’s concerns. I do not take the law into my own hands or encourage anyone else to." Locals are furious. Grimsby and Cleethorpes beaches are family places, not campsites for someone with this kind of history. Humberside Police have issued no public comment on the original assault allegation, the man’s immigration status, conviction details or the reported attack that forced his removal. - Humberside Police figures show sexual offences in the area have risen by 3.2%. - Violence and sexual offences remain among the most common crimes reported in Grimsby and Cleethorpes. In February 2026, Iranian asylum seeker Shahram Ibrehemi, 20, was sentenced to nine years and seven months at Grimsby Crown Court for the repeated rape of a 13 year old girl he and another man lured to a hotel room after getting her intoxicated. In March 2026, two Romanian teenage boys were jailed for a combined 10 years at the same court after being convicted of multiple rapes, false imprisonment and sexual offences against women. Cases like these continue to fuel growing anger over repeat offending, soft sentencing and failures to remove foreign criminals from the streets.
