We’re delighted to be hearing from Dr Julia Sadusky today, a clinical psychologist and speaker based in Colorado, who has experience of working in youth ministry and now trains Catholic faith-based organisations around sexuality, gender and Christian faith.

We were blessed to have Sophie from @DoLFormation with us at yesterday’s meeting! We took part in the consultation about the potential merger with Hallam and Middlesbrough Dioceses. We evaluated our action plan and our previous meeting with Bishop Marcus too! 😃 #TheTwelve

Pope Leo celebrates his first Ash Wednesday Liturgy as Bishop of Rome with the Penitential Procession on the Aventine Hill from Sant’Anselmo to the Basilica of Santa Sabina. This ancient practice of the Holy Father participating in the Roman Station Church liturgy was restored by Pope St. John XXIII in 1959.

Pope Leo received priests of the Diocese of Rome in the Vatican and exhorted them to rekindle the fire first lit by God when He gave them the gift of collaborating in His work. He challenged them to never close themselves off and to not "be afraid to open up," even about their "tiredness and crises, especially with fellow priests."

The coming week's sung liturgies at Leeds Cathedral. In addition our after-school choirs are singing Mass at St Joseph's, Bradford (10am), St Robert's, Harrogate (11am) and Our Lady of Lourdes, Huddersfield (10.30am) The Diocese Community Choir meet on Sunday at 2.30pm.

Reflecting on last Sunday's Gospel, in our daily classroom prayers for primary schools, children are invited to encounter Jesus through the wonderful example of St Pier Giorgio Frassati, who is known as 'The Man of the Beatitudes'. eu1.hubs.ly/H0rs05T0

The Beatitudes become for us a measure of happiness, leading us to ask whether we consider it an achievement to be bought or a gift to be shared; whether we place it in objects that are consumed or in relationships that accompany us. #GospelOfToday (Mt 5:1-12)

We have produced a series of A4 PDF posters, that individuals or parishes can download, featuring Our Lady and the Child Jesus from a diverse cross-section of countries and cultures. Although by no means exhaustive, we hope this series highlights the rich diversity of our Catholic community and encourages reflection on how we are all made in the image of God. The posters also carry a prayer taken from Pope Francis’ document Fratelli Tutti.
