Love is love. The world needs far more of it. There’s been a staggering amount of invective, particularly on social media, about two athletes in love, Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis announcing the greatest news of their young lives. Sam’s club, @ChelseaFCW even had to turn off comments in the face of massive homophobic abuse, as did Sam. All my love and support to them both. They’re strong and courageous to proudly display their love to the world, knowing the abuse that is sadly still far too prevalent in the game of football, and outside. With one small proviso, as long as Kristie understands this child will Captain Australia to a World Cup title 🏆 Which will be the perfect riposte to the haters 💚💛
