@DocAnarcho @beerandtokens it wasn't a response it a question to provide context and spur thinking about that extremely complex issue but you knew that because you're smart and were just testing me, right?

My brother in Christ. In 1980 the home price to income ratio was 3.6x, now it’s 5x In 1980 a degree cost 15% of the average annual income, today it’s 58% In 1980 child care cost 7% of the median household income, now it’s 19% In 1980 health care cost 10% the median household income, now it’s 21% In 1980 the average car payment for a new car was 6% of the median household income, now it’s 13% These are national averages, and not some anecdotal personal experience. Idk why it’s so hard for people to do a little good faith research and just admit that life’s necessities are exponentially more expensive now than when they were young adults. It’s a crazy level of pride, arrogance and denial.

@beerandtokens In 1985, I was making $5/hr and paying $400/month for a 1-bdrm apartment; so like 60%+ of my monthly salary went to pay my rent. Avg price in my city for an apt now is $1200-1400, with min wage at $15. It's about the same ratio of income as the 80s.

@ffdataroma He out touch/targeted Perine by 3:1 despite a "60/40 split". It was actually one of the highest usage rates among RB, what are you on about? Perine lol.

Chase Brown is one of my biggest fades in drafts right now. He was indeed splitting work 60/40 with Perine when Perine was active from Week 5 on. It wasn’t just low-value work Perine took, the two split goal line rushes evenly in this time. Brown was able to get there on receiving volume and running extremely hot on receiving TDs down the stretch (5 in final 4 games), but that’s unsustainable for an RB (or even a WR/TE). And his raw target numbers, which were strong but inflated some by negative game scripts, could come down as well as we’re expecting a much more competitive Bengals team in 2026. I think he belongs in the Jacobs/Breece tier of ADP rather than Henry/Walker group. He’s a guy propped up more by theoretical role over raw talent (middling efficiency, explosive rates and rushing production each of L2 years), not a bet I want to be making regardless this early but especially considering the role is probably a little overrated.
Ethan Kreager@EthanKreagerFF

Some are expecting a bell cow workload for Chase Brown in 2026, but I don't see it. Quietly, Samaje Perine ate into his work in a meaningful way last season. From week 5 onwards, Perine and Brown played together in 10 games (Perine missed 3 games with injury). In those 10 games, Brown had 59% of snaps 61% of routes 62% of carries 61% of red zone carries 56% of goal line carries While Brown saw a majority of the work, it's far less than what some other borderline top 10 RBs for 2026 had/should have this season. Perine's work was not limited to passing downs, and he also took meaningful red zone/goal line touches away from Brown. Perine has been an established pass catching/3rd down back on several teams for a few years now, but in 2025, Perine showed rushing ability on the level of Brown with the opportunities he did get. Perine, in 2025: 3.23 YCO/att 0.20 MTF/att 10.7% of carries for 10+ yards Brown, in 2025: 3.06 YCO/att 0.20 MTF/att 10.3% of carries for 10+ yards Other guys on good offenses going in his ADP range like Jacobs, Walker, and Henry all project to have significantly more TD equity. Additionally, Jeremiyah Love and Breece Hall project for true bell cow roles, even on lesser offenses. I see no reason why this workload split won't continue this year with Perine back, and I'd take several of the guys mentioned above over Brown in 2026.

@DocAnarcho @daltine_cracker @ThroneSpud None but you were referring to Saban. Smart has been a part of 6 titles though as a coordinator and head coach. Cignetti is clearly great but smart easily the better coach still

@SleeperNFL I gotta be on the Puka/Cook side. They're better AND you're getting juice? Unless the TEP is 100%+ of the normal PPR AND I don't have an option behind Bowers.

@jacobinfante24 @brgridiron Man, can they tackle? We played nickel/dime a lot last year and got obliterated by the run. Neither Bryant nor Thieneman are as good in the run as their 2025 counterpart. I'm worried a bad run defense got worse at defending the run and they're a part of it.

The most underrated aspect of the #Bears’ roster going into 2026 is their secondary. They got faster at safety by bringing in Dillon Thieneman and Coby Bryant. Their versatility will give Dennis Allen the ability to disguise coverage looks and keep offenses guessing. Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon missed a combined 24 games last year. That’s a really low bar of health to reach to have a bigger impact in 2026. I’m confident Jaylon and Kyler both play more games than last year, and having them in the lineup is an upgrade over what the Bears had in the secondary last year. I have some concern about the other outside CB spot, but you have Tyrique Stevenson in a key contract year, and I’m a big fan of the Malik Muhammad pick. Between the two of them, I think you better play on the perimeter.

For much of his career in Denver, John Elway carried Broncos teams with limited, even woeful, offensive talent— Sammy Winder and the Three Amigos???— to three Super Bowls. And this was during an era when defenses could get away with murder. When Elway finally got some talent around him late in his career, he won two Super Bowls. F*ck statistics! Anyone who saw John Elway play football witnessed greatness.

@PattonAnalytics I’m not a big fan of either of these guys or their teams, but this is horrible recency bias. I’ve been watching football religiously for 50 years, and if I were building a team, I’d take Elway over Rogers.

Ranking the Top 32 Starting QB’s to build an NFL franchise around: - Sam Darnold is the biggest riser over the last year - I heavily considered putting Caleb Williams as high as 2 - Cam Ward Vs. Fernando Mendoza is very fascinating - Jayden Daniels is slept on, he’ll be back
