We’ve published an update about the steps we’re taking to prepare for the regulation of physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs) in December 2024 – gmc-uk.org/news/news-arch… We’ve shared this with healthcare system leaders across the UK. This includes information about: - The detailed report we’ll publish in December with the feedback from our public consultation - How we’ll register PAs and AAs - Our work to quality assure the education and training of PAs and AAs - How we’ll handle concerns raised with us about PAs and AAs - Appraisals for PAs and AAs, ahead of future revalidation We’ll continue to work with colleagues across the system to make sure that regulation is implemented effectively and supports our shared goal of improving patient safety and care.
