"Look, at the end of the day, the governor has blood on his hands ... We have repeatedly told him what his rhetoric was going to do, and that is exactly what transpired ..." — Florida State Rep. @AngieNixon (D), who represents Jacksonville, on DeSantis' condemnation of shooter

34 percent of Harvard students are white. 43 percent of those students are either legacies, children of faculty, kin of donors or a recruited athlete. 75 percent of them would not have gotten in if not for special status (National Bureau of Economic Research). But when in doubt, blame the Black people!

Is it asking too much to be able to drag/drop the .nbib file from PubMed into my Word document where the citation is needed? Give me 10 less clicks please EndNote.

A debate that goes back to the days when "standards" (songs that every artist had in their repertoire) were a thing. This might be about preference, or a generational difference. For Day 25 of the #BlackMusicMonthChallenge, name the cover you'll die defending over the original.

@naima Nelly - E.I. Not only was it the first time I heard the song but also first time I saw the music video. My sister and I watched it on The Box. What a time.

Some songs IMMEDIATELY become a core memory. They grab us so fiercely the first time we hear them, that time, place, moment, etc is locked in from that point on. For Day 22 of the #BlackMusicMonthChallenge, share a song with the moment of that fist listen still clear in mind.

I’m sorry that Dr. Ray’s story is not an isolated example of the insidious racism and gaslighting that Black trainees face. Thanks for sharing your truth.

Some songs grab us from the jump... the very first lyrics or bars have us belting along at the top of our lungs, sometimes with our face scrunched up in that way great music requires. For Day 11 of the #BlackMusicMonthChallenge, share a favorite opening verse of any genre.
