The LU002 study was one of the most ambitious studies ever attempted by NRG Oncology. Unfortunately, the only biomarker used to select patients was the # of metastases present at diagnosis. Therefore, it essentially enrolled an UNSELECTED cohort of participants. Such a study design would be similar to a randomized trial of +/- Osimertinib for stage IV NSCLC enrolling patients based on the # of metastases and not knowing their EGFR status.
