🧩 #ACR25 CPPD & Crowned Dens Syndrome – Quick Read 🔹 CPPD (Calcium Pyrophosphate Deposition Disease) = “Pseudogout” • 💎 Deposition of CPP crystals → Chondrocalcinosis (esp. TFCC, menisci) • 🖼️ X-ray: Hooklike osteophytes at MCPs, meniscocalcinosis in knees • 🧠 CT/MRI: Calcium deposits; no urate on DECT • 💡 Common mimicker of OA & RA 👑 Crowned Dens Syndrome • Acute neck pain + ↑ inflammatory markers • Crystal deposition around dens (C1–C2) → “radiopaque crown” sign • 🧩 Due to CPPD (rarely BCP) • Chronic phase → retro-odontoid pseudotumor #CPPD #Pseudogout #CrownedDens #RheumTwitter #Radiology
