Pretty sure there is only reason they would do this. Same reason that guides how pretty much all businesses make decisions. Has to be because they think they'll make a lot more money there relative to Bridgeport. I have no idea what AHL economics are like, but I suspect they're correct. If convenience was what they were looking for, could have just moved them to the Coli. #isles

Truly great broadcaster. Retiring at 72 (which is completely reasonable!) makes what guys like Sterling, Harwell, and Scully did look that much more impressive. It' not like Dave Sims isn't a good broadcaster, but I can also tell you it's just not the same listening to the Yankees on the radio anymore. His uniquely shameless shtick with all the catchphrases really can't be imitated (though I wish someone would try.) So I feel bad for all the Mets fans about to go through the same thing next year after Howie has put his last one in the books. He and Sterling both belong in the NAB HOF. #Yankees #Mets #isles Also, Mets better not get any ideas about going after @brendanmburke as his successor. Never thought it was possible we'd get anyone as good as Howie to do the Isles after he left and we got somebody who was actually better, which is about the highest compliment you could ever pay a broadcaster.

@stefen_rosner Looks like he just misses the cutoff for the 2026 draft. Will be one of the oldest players in the 2027 draft.

From my understanding, this decision is not about his feelings toward #Isles  but more so about staying at ND to play with both of his brothers. His older brother is there & his younger brother is an incoming freshman.

I hate his politics. He was great for us last season, and I think Romanov got a lot better playing with him. I advocated resigning him. He's a talented offensive defenseman, and has done a far better job playing defense in the second part of the season. He was abjectly terrible in our end the first two months of the season, but seems to have cleaned it up to a large degree, or maybe Pelech has figured out how to cover for him better, who knows. He's also done a great job keeping his politics to himself. Pretty much all we hear him say is how great Mat Barzal is. He can stay for now. #isles

Tony DeAngelo had another great game last night in the #Isles 3-1 win over the Leafs. He’s been on a tear as of late. He was once again one of the best players on the ice, putting up a +2.48 game score and adding an assist on Emil Heineman’s third-period goal with a laser of a cross-ice pass from the right circle. You could see his confidence out there – he was jumping into the play, winning battles along the boards, and making smart reads end-to-end. That’s the version of DeAngelo we’ve been getting lately, driving play at 5-on-5, and holding his own on the backend. He’s been rolling for a while now and the Islanders are going to need him to continue doing so down this tight stretch to make the playoffs.
