Canopy cover influenced response to nutrient additions with plant community and forest floor fluxes being more responsive to fertilization under sparse canopy cover indicating the importance of local environmental factors in boreal plant community response to warming.

Don would like you to know that 20k of 46k people living in the NWT reside in Yellowknife. My message is clear: 1) 9 cities and communities evacuated 2) >50% NWT residents displaced 3) One city largely destroyed 4) Huge human and climate toll

The word "unprecedented" has been used a lot this week to describe the wildfire situation in the Northwest Territories. I'm not sure that the layers and layers of unprecedented reflect how completely overrun the territory is, and the emotional toll of the situation. 1/n
