I'm still scratching my head as to why this offer was even presented to the membership. It does nothing to solve unemployment, worsens bottlenecks down the line, and nothing substantive on pay. Plus, what does converting LED➡️ training do to people holding those posts now? Who does this offer actually help?

FINALLY- Decision @RCPhysicians investigation Removal from the Council of an elected member Barring standing for elections 12 months By a panel which is unknown - with zero right to reply. (To be ratified by Council on 15/7) For exposing chicanery around PAs by senior execs While prev PRCP and Reg have zero sanctions after their actions brought along an EGM @djnicholl Pretty much as expected by an organisation trying to suppress any dissenting voice Regrets? Nil You can try whatever you want - the direction around PAs has changed for good Kids- never ever give up a fight when you are doing the right thing. On the upside? RCP have asked me to see my GP for mental distress this may have caused me. That’s nice- no? 😊

Does anyone know why ACPs are given time in theatre to assist, the cath lab, clerking with the reg and the F1s are always kept on the ward and given no protected time for that stuff?

Doctors in the UK are working in restaurants because they can’t find an NHS job. 20,000 doctors will be potentially be out of a NHS speciality training job this August, due to government restrictions on training spots. There is no rational reason for this restriction to exist. Meanwhile, the general public are desperate to see specialists yet doctors are being held back from seeing patients, and from training to become Consultants and GPs. The managed decline of the NHS.

Today, I got my job allocation as an incoming doctor. After 9 years studying at Cambridge, a PhD, and scholarships for ranking high up in my cohort, I’ve been placed in Northern Ireland - hours away from any friends or family and one of my lowest choices. #NHS #FY1 #UKFPO

A medical registrar undoubtedly has the hardest job in the hospital They are senior doctors that carry a HUGE degree of responsibility How on EARTH this trust justifies paying them £10 LESS than a PA (who THEY supervise?!) with 2 years of training is insulting beyond belief.
Dr Jonny Blackwell@JonnyBlackwell

A med reg is worth their weight in gold. It’s the hardest job in the hospital, bearing enormous responsibility, and I believe saves the most lives per hour of any staff. 9 yrs dedicated training to start as a med reg! £10/hr less than a PA with 2 yrs 🤯 @BucksNHS ?!?

If you're wondering how the NHS estate is doing, on my night shift I was passed by a rat running down the hospital corridor. (obligatory 'but my watch is an infection control risk' here)

After working in A&E for just a little over a month, I thought I'd share my experiences as one of the front line doctors facing the current/ongoing crisis happening across our country. A quarter through my placement, I already feel burned out and morally fatigued. 1/20.

I’m so fed up of the way this country is functioning and the way we have delivered a national de skilling of the healthcare workforce is a key part @pa_StephenNash here talks about the PA role on @BBCNews The shortage you speak of and talk about is one that has been falsely created - I do wish you would say that and articulate that Especially when going on national TV and saying it - because it definitely isn't helping anyone. And let's look at competition ratios for training pathways. - some way beyond 20:1 Heck I got a message this morning about 12 JCF posts at a trust and 2500 applicants. (1000 more than last year which already was insane) Thousands of GPs right now out of work, yet 2500 - 3000 PAs in primary care being used as GP/GP registrars (well atleast a major proportion of the ones in primary care are being poorly worked with-I've actually only come across 3 myself that are being used well- but let's say there is a decent %) The moment you talk and compare PA use to a 'shortage' of doctors that's the moment you admit that PAs are replacing doctors. Yet you say they aren't. So which is it - let's be clear to the public The doctors who ‘created’ the role are disgraced doctors like Jim Parle who produced evidence like the one below. Are you saying to me that based on ‘evidence’ like this the public should do what Parle says- at a national level? Or do you mean the doctors in the disgraced organisations like the RCP who it is evident how any why they ‘created’ the role? Or how Dr Vautrey pushed through ARRS despite 67% of GPs being against it? Or do you mean the likes of @NavinaEvans who only care about their own careers and what they need to do for national roles and gongs? The public have never mattered to such people. Or do you mean the great doctors within @gmcuk like @drcolinm who say one thing but do another and are duplicitous? The very organisations that have created the 8 million patients on waiting list backlog you are saying they are the ones you think are doing a good job? If you value doctors so much - the ones that have pushed this are far lesser than the ones asking to stop. Why is it that you don’t respect or value them? I’m also leaving you with a panorama video of why this role was created. 10 years to GP. 2 years to PA as a GP replacement How you could advocate for this is alarming But you know what - I don’t even care anymore. Advocate for it. Do it. But be honest with the public.

@Cleverclog67596 They can’t supervise properly if you don’t tell them the right story. This whole PA nonsense was a shambles from the start. A complete flop and massive patient safety risk.
