🧵 There’s been a rise of eisegesis and narcigesis with Scripture in the US. Fueled by the Prosperity Gospel and Word of Faith theology, I feel like this has produced a mindset that America is kinda like the “new Israel,” chosen by God to usher in His kingdom on earth. 1/

@PrayerGarden @EWaddy03 Every revival in history has started with repentance. I see neither repentance nor revival in our country right now. I see xenophobia, fear of neighbor, exploitation of neighbor, exultation in violence, and idolatry. These are not the fruit of the Spirit.

We all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and we deserve death. But God, not wanting us for die, sent His Son to die in our place. If we accept that gift and confess Jesus as Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved

It's sad how many Catholics like this guy are Biblically illiterate. The Jewish apostle Paul - himself a Benjamite Israelite who persecuted the early believers - asks the exact question he's raising in Romans 11:1 'I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.' In verse 2: 'God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.' Paul then explains the mystery: a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the full number of Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved (Romans 11:25–26). The covenants and gifts of God to Israel are irrevocable (Romans 11:29). Israel remains 'beloved' on account of the patriarchs (Romans 11:28). This is not my opinion - it's the inspired Word of the Jewish Messiah's chosen apostle. John 8:44 ('You are of your father the devil'): Yeshua was speaking to a specific group of Pharisees and religious leaders who had just claimed Abraham as their father while plotting to kill Him (John 8:31, 37, 40, 59). He was addressing their actions and unbelief, not every Jewish person by ethnicity. Yeshua, His disciples, the apostles, and thousands of first-century Jews did believe in Him. The same chapter begins with 'the Jews who had believed in him' (v. 31). This is not a blanket curse on the Jewish people. Matthew 21:43 ('The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit'): This is the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, told directly to 'the chief priests and the elders of the people' and 'the Pharisees' (Matthew 21:23, 45). The 'tenants' are the corrupt religious leadership who rejected the owner's son (Jesus) The vineyard is still Israel (see Isaiah 5:1–7), but stewardship of the kingdom shifts from those leaders to the faithful remnant - which has always included Jews (the apostles, the early Messianic community) plus believing Gentiles. This is not God damning the entire Jewish people or revoking His covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Matthew 5:20 (righteousness exceeding that of the scribes and Pharisees): Yeshua was teaching His Jewish disciples on a hillside in Galilee how to live as citizens of the Kingdom. He was raising the bar for everyone - including us today - not pronouncing eternal national damnation. Vatican II's Nostra Aetate (1965) explicitly rejected the idea that Jews are 'rejected or accursed by God.' It states that 'God holds the Jews most dear for the sake of their Fathers' and 'does not repent of the gifts He makes or of the calls He issues.' The Church receives its spiritual nourishment from the 'root' of that olive tree (Israel) into which Gentile believers are grafted (Romans 11:17–18). Paul warns Gentiles right there: 'Do not be arrogant toward the branches.' The pattern in Scripture is consistent: God disciplines Israel for unfaithfulness (as He has done throughout the Tanakh), but He never abandons or damns the nation He chose. The New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31–34) is made with 'the house of Israel and the house of Judah' - and Yeshua the Messiah is the mediator of that covenant for Jew and Gentile alike. The Church is not a 'replacement' for Israel; rather they are wild olive branches grafted into Israel's root. The natural branches (Jewish people) are being grafted back in even now through faith in the Messiah. To claim 'God damns Israel' is to call God a liar about His own covenants and to ignore the very apostle who wrote half the New Testament. Yeshua wept over Jerusalem and said He would return when the Jewish people say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord' (Matthew 23:39). Paul longed for his 'kinsmen according to the flesh' to be saved (Romans 9:1–3). Antisemitism - hatred or cursing of the Jewish people - has zero place in the life of anyone who follows the Jewish Messiah.

@WallStreetApes Any time Our Savior is mocked, I don’t get mad, I simply want to weep. Weep because He is the definition of love, and for the people, bc they truly know not what they do - to the only Savior they have who can give them unconditional love & life. 💔

@GilesLMcKenzie @ChrisHohnholz An intentionally rage baiting response when you know full well that the argument for the triune nature of the Godhead is drawn directly from Scripture. I’ll simply bid you a good day. 🤦🏻‍♂️

When the Sadducees attempted to trip up Christ using a scenario dreamt up in their false theology and philosophy, Jesus responded with Scripture: “Jesus said to them, ‘Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God?’” (Mark 12:24, ESV) If Jesus held the power of the Scriptures in high esteem to the point that he answered theology and philosophy with them, then Christians must do likewise. The Scriptures are the ultimate authority by which all ideologies, traditions, and practices must bow the knee. If they do not submit to or line up with Scripture, then they must be rejected. This is why we must uphold and submit to #SolaScriptura.

Some better start taking the words of Jesus seriously. He did not stutter, was not vague. When you attack me over WORLDLY things, WORLDLY men, I will block you to spare you further judgement, since some can't seem to stop themselves.

@TammyDoodleDo It’s sad that some people think they’ll be able to reason w/ God on that day, or that they won’t have to give an account because there were other people who were worse than them.
