Your tone seems a bit "gleeful" as you mention the possibility of an American humiliation. When the population of America was HALF of what it is today, we had at least TWICE as many troops in uniform. We sustained personnel losses over enough years to simultaneously defeat two empires across two oceans and thus WON World War Two. The geopolitics of the wars in Korea and Vietnam were somewhat different, but we weathered the storms. I have known plenty of PROUD Vietnam War veterans (including several of the men that trained me). Technological advances changed the battlefield "math" (e.g.: 100,000 Iraqi troops dropped their rifles and surrendered) in more recent times. War against Iran is justified on multiple levels. It is a sad fact that people can get injured or killed. But, as I said in the original post, I would volunteer to go myself -- if @PeteHegseth would let a 68-year-old man go -- if for no other reason than so that my children would not need to go. President Trump is doing the job that other presidents since February of 1979 have failed to do. (Yes, sadly, that includes the great Ronald Reagan.) Nice try at spinning, but: FAILED.

If the SNP came out backing a Rupert Lowe style immigration system, they’d win an independence mandate overnight. I’m as big a Unionist as they come, but even I’d vote Yes if it meant ending immigration and ensuring Scots never become a minority in our own country.
