Shohei Ohtani tonight: 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 SO. The unearned run came on Ohtani's own throwing error. The fifth inning was laborious. But Ohtani has completed six innings in all five of his starts this season. His ERA is 0.60.

@DodgerSpaces @FabianArdaya That’s not allowed. He can only bat for Dalton Rushing. If he does, the Dodgers lose the DH for the rest of the game so the pitcher that replaces Ohtani would enter the batting order as the new leadoff hitter.

One thing Dave Roberts made clear today: Shohei Ohtani’s goal is to make every turn through the rotation. So in lieu of him skipping a start here and there, having him only pitch on some days is a way of reducing his workload.
