@themoviedadsc I did a full 180 on this over the years. Early on: maxed out low-rate mortgage leverage to invest every extra dollar (other people’s money FTW). Later, with a solid investment base, I hated owing anyone anything. Emotional decision? Sure. But incredibly freeing and empowering!

Biggest reason I couldn't care less about the "pay extra to your mortgage vs. invest extra payments" debate is because the majority of people debating it are so financially well off, they're gonna end up more than fine regardless which route they take with those extra payments.
