It would be helpful if Sen. Lee posted any substance to back up his sweeping accusations. I’m open to the idea that many — or even every single thing — everyone of his Democratic colleagues has said about the bill is a lie. But Senator Lee would help himself if he pointed to a single lie of any kind in this video. He doesn’t. That seems like a bit of a tell.

I’m just trying to follow the House Finance Committee here on this fine March 24th 2026 morning, and my brain is doing cartwheels. You know I’m an addict for these committee meetings. But today…. It’s really hard to listen to these guys are you in the finance committee about there’s a dividend there’s not a dividend there’s a dividend. Honestly they should probably pay their bills before talking about a saving money and not paying a PFD. Because there’s not a PFD in the budget as it sits today. Meanwhile, the rest of us are out here wondering if the state budget process is just performance art titled Yes We Have Money / No We Don’t / Yes We Do But Only If We Amend It / Wait, What Dividend? Alaska, I love you, but this mid-meeting circus is why some of us drink. We can’t Pass the full dividend, so balance the damn thing, or at least give us subtitles that say This is all theater tune in next week for the sequel Amendment Boogaloo.

Here’s another complaint from “The Free Press” that a hotel had power while a hospital lost power in Cuba. In case The Free Press is merely ignorant and not actively lying to their audience, I’d remind them that the Trump administration changed its rules so private businesses (like the American-owned hotels that Americans are required to stay in) are allowed to buy imported oil but the government (which means all hospitals) is not allowed to import oil.
So now that The Free Press is aware of this fact — and rightly thinks it is wrong to deprive a hospital of fuel — I’m sure they will amend this piece and join the rest of the civilized world in demanding Trump end this illegal oil blockade.
Right? That’s what they’ll do won’t they?
