Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent—a time of reflection, grace, conversion, hope, and encounter with God. “You are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Gen 3:19). Rape harms the victim, and we all have reasons not to harm others. I don’t know why this is supposed to be some impossible challenge for atheists to meet. It’s obviously a better answer than, “because the divine commander said not to.” What if the divine commander commanded rape?
