@BradyJBush @irishpresby @elimcgowan It isn't anti-Christ to say that racism isn't a sin because it's not. Obesity is.
English

@irishpresby @elimcgowan Pastors can and should be charged for liking anti-Christ memes.

As friends of Rev. Garris are pointing out, his PCA Presbytery is having his ecclesiastical trial on Wednesday.
Rev. Garris had a formal call for discipline come from about a hundred elders around the country during the summer of 2024 after he defended chattel slavery (which he later apologized for), and was found to have liked many racist memes and statements like one that said racism was not a moral failing.

Praying for my brother and friend @ZacharyGarris this week as his trial before Rio Grande Presbytery is Wednesday. Psalm 135:14

Hell yeah, it is. Let's keep it that way #ILoveNorthAlabama

I think this area might be the most racist place in the world
English

@caesar_beaver It’s also one of the poorest places in America. But hey, racism is cool!
English

@PracticalTheolo Because Jesus is the *unique* Son of God. The firstborn. The *only begotten*, not made nor created.
English

@caesar_beaver No, this is Athanasius' goofy argument. 'Son of God' is used for various things in the Bible, not just Jesus.
English

@_matthewpearson @tyler_austin55 This should be a copypasta
English

@PracticalTheolo Jesus is God by virtue of being Yeshua ben-Yahweh. Being ben-Yahweh means, to the Jews, that He partakes in that Yahweh-ness. This makes Him God.
English

@PracticalTheolo You do not know what common sense is. You're philosophically and Biblically illiterate.
English

@caesar_beaver No, common-sense can definitely get overridden by goofy theories.
English

@PracticalTheolo I should've been clearer in my message but you're equating John's being sent from God to prophesy of Jesus to Jesus' very being of God.
English

@caesar_beaver Not sure what your point is here. I never said Jesus called himself 'the Son from God'.
English

@PracticalTheolo No one can have their common sense removed from them, that's part of having an intellect. It's like Uno in that it came free with your Xbox, as it were.
English

@caesar_beaver No, some people lack common-sense to varying degrees, especially when they've had it pounded out of them by clever-sillies advocating for theories (such as Trinitarianism).
English

@PracticalTheolo Jesus doesn't call Himself the Son from God, He says that He is the Son of God. John says that he is the Light from God. You have to be just as particular as Scripture is.
English

@caesar_beaver No, 'Son of God' in the Bible means someone in a privileged relationship with God. But yes, Jesus is 'from' God, similar to how John the Baptist is 'from' God.
English

@PracticalTheolo That's not how the phrase works. That's not what it means. The point of common sense is that everyone has it. Reid defended it against Hume because the idea is that *everyone* has a baseline understanding of reality. Common sense, philosophically, means nothing more.
English

@caesar_beaver Perhaps you simply lack common-sense, so think the word is 'meaningless'?
English

@PracticalTheolo Mary's little lamb isn't an ancient Hebraic song. "Son of God" means that you are literally *from God* to the Jews, which is why they wanted to kill Him. Son of God means to partake in the nature of God, so God the Son is the logical clarification of that. Stop being stupid.
English

@AngloSouthern Unfortunate to see a woman celebrating it but overall, looks good
English

Cool to see Anglicans in the CoE returning to their actual liturgical tradition.
Great St Bartholomew@StBartholomews
For Whitsunday we inaugurated our new service of Holy Communion in the High Church tradition. 🕊️🔥 Now celebrated every Sunday at 5pm in St Bartholomew the Less, the service follows the practices of High Church divines such as William Laud, John Cosin and Lancelot Andrewes.
English

@PracticalTheolo None of those things are common sense, that's not what common sense is or how it works.
English

@caesar_beaver I'm not referring to the title of 'Christ' when talking about common-sense semantics. I'm talking about concepts like 'begotten', 'sent', communicating with, proper names, and so on.
