@ABasicAlt @MishimaFudanshi @JanPogman2 Fajitas were invented in the 1930s same time hundreds of thousands of Mexicans were being deported despite over half of the deportees being citizens. Whites didn’t consider them American then so it’s funny when they try to claim the food now

@whatdoicare87 @epicjapa2 @saetelite If you don’t claim dual citizenship estadounidenses who don’t live in Mexico then you’re admitting that there is a Mexican ethnic identity that they can never culturally be a part of.

@Dominic01775948 @epicjapa2 @saetelite aha… and we’ve arrived at the whole point. just because you identify with an ethnic group doesn’t mean that you’re a part of it. it’s not how it works. United Statesians with Mexican ancestry aren’t the same as Mexicans ;)

@whatdoicare87 @epicjapa2 @saetelite So you admit there’s a greater shared Mexican national culture that people outside will never relate to. Great, you agree with me then. Again, ethnicity isn’t race it’s shared culture. Everyone in Mexico has staple cuisine items, clothing, most speak Spanish. That’s ethnic.

@MishimaFudanshi mexicans who think of mexican as an ethnicity is not uncommon though. the emergence of the pejorative “pocho” in mexico implies this thinking

@whatdoicare87 @epicjapa2 @saetelite Being estadosunidense is a self prescribed ethnicity for many people. Especially those who lose connection to their original cultures. That doesn’t mean there aren’t a plethora of American ethnicities defined completely differently or very similarly.

@Dominic01775948 @epicjapa2 @saetelite Dom, what you're literally saying rn is that being a United Statesian is an ethicity. It's not because there are many ethnicities in the United States. Same goes for Mexico, what is so hard for you to understand?

@whatdoicare87 @epicjapa2 @saetelite Don’t many Mexicans share culture, language, history, and sets of traditions? I agree there are countless ethnicities in Mexico, doesn’t mean there can’t also be a larger Mexican ethnicity ppl self prescribe. Again, ethnicity is not some rigid definition you’re used to

@Dominic01775948 @epicjapa2 @saetelite it is most definitely not. this is what it means. and there are countless ethnicities in Mexico. United Statesians that have a Mexican background are NOT the same ethnicity as literally anyone born in Mexico, as they don’t share all of the below mentioned.

@epicjapa2 @saetelite No shit. It happens to be one of the strongest nationalities too, creating patriotism comparable to war torn countries. You don’t think that creates common traits and culture? Again I implore you to learn what ethnicity is because here’s a hint: it’s not race

@EddyWhiteh64097 @Kurrco That’s fair to say and I know zays been around but considering he hadnt dropped in forever before recent im skeptical abt his direct influence. But yea I hear the similarities could be one of those slow-burner hip hop influences

@Dominic01775948 @Kurrco its not an entirely new sound from him at all but this is more pronounced. production, melodies, vocal distortion has all gone up in a notch in this particular track. strong parallels to the zay album thats all. not saying hes copying it and i know hes talented in his own right

@ddown2mars This is how I feel about Latinos that don’t typically step outside of their communities calling themselves white passing 🧍🏽‍♀️ like they think we’re beaners even if you have green eyes

@Pedanti_Cat MMs dad spent his life working against Vought and Soldier Boy is literally still alive. It doesn’t make sense that MM would just stop

I think one of the big problem with The Boys is that a certain point, it stopped being about taking down Vought and only about taking down Homelander. Season 5 even verbally said out Capitalism is the real evil. And iy's because of Vought that Homelander even exist.

@darkestchiildz So u likely be hearing from classist urbanites rather than the poorer rural communities chicanos primarily originate. They call us traitors but never recognize the billions of remittances we send every year. Our families couldn’t afford Mexico n still don’t without remittances

@darkestchiildz Americans and middle class Mexicans hated diaspora so much that they both used “Chicano” as a slur against us. It all starts making sense when you realize it was always rooted in classism. + 85% urban mexicans use internet while only 66% rural where most chicanos come from

Ppl really do just want marvel slop with Rick n Morty humor. Most endings would’ve been great if the set ups weren’t so blatantly rushed and contrived. The 2nd cut to a funeral with Hughies mandated Reddit positivism speech actually had me cackling

Just saw The Boys finale in 4DX. I don’t care what anyone says, this was a near perfect finale and a great season. It did have its missteps but this fan base is just atrocious.

Mexicans using the typical “we are all mestizos” to sidestep colorism and racism lmaoo
Isaac 🇻🇦@persficticio

@Neymar10730 Es un alteño promedio. En México nos tiene sin cuidado su mentalidad racialista protestante anglosajona, porque aquí no hay “white Mexicans”. Somos mestizos y nos sentimos perfectamente cómodos con ello.
