Are you not wondering… …why the Blessed Virgin Mary, Jesus’ own Mother, was not among the women who went to the tomb early on Easter morning to complete the anointing and cleansing of His body? Isn’t it only natural that His Mother would be the very first, eager to finish this final act of love? Tradition offers a beautiful and profound explanation: Jesus had already appeared to His Mother first, in a private, tender encounter filled with love and consolation. She kept this joy in her heart, just as she had pondered so many mysteries throughout her life (cf. Luke 2:19, 51).
