Slave trade is thriving once again, and Black people are sold in open markets like vegetables. The whole country has descended into chaos, with every region controlled by one militia or another. Education has become a distant, almost impossible dream for most Libyans. The country now also serves as a major transit hub for weapons and foreign mercenaries, contributing to instability across the Sahel and Sudan. The intervention that was presented as a humanitarian mission left behind a fractured state whose consequences are still felt across Africa.
