I’ve been reporting and investigating this case for over a year. FACT CHECK: A “jury of your peers” does NOT mean the jurors have to be the same race as the defendant. You confidently claimed that because there wasn’t someone the same color as the defendant on the jury, it wasn’t a jury of his peers. That is 100% false. A jury of your peers means a jury selected from the community and judged by fellow citizens. It does NOT mean every juror has to match the defendant’s race, gender, religion, age, or background. If that were true, every defendant would be entitled to a jury custom-built to mirror their demographics. That’s not how the legal system works. The Constitution requires that juries be selected from a fair cross-section of the community. It does NOT require that the final jury contain members of any particular race. The idea that people can only fairly judge someone if they share the same skin color is not only legally wrong, it’s an incredibly racist way of viewing the justice system. Also, Karmelo was NOT 130 lbs. But clearly you don’t get your info from anything other than racist social media influencers instead of the documented FACTS. And the AUDACITY to say “he was the only black kid under the tent”?! A large portion of the witnesses who were UNDER THE TENT who TESTIFIED AGAINST KARMELO were BLACK! I am FLABBERGASTED by the outright lies you just spewed!

Why is the SAVE America Act even controversial? Only American citizens should vote in American elections. That shouldn’t be a partisan statement. It should be COMMON SENSE. The SAVE America Act is about one thing: protecting the integrity of our elections. In Texas alone, thousands of non-citizens have been removed from voter rolls. In close elections, that can absolutely matter. Every illegal vote cancels out the vote of a legal citizen. And spare me the argument that requiring ID is somehow discriminatory. I’m Black. I’m a veteran. I have 6 forms of government-issued ID. The idea that Black and Hispanic Americans are somehow incapable of obtaining an ID is one of the most insulting forms of political condescension in modern politics. Every American, regardless of race, religion, color, or creed, is capable of meeting the basic requirements to vote. The SAVE America Act doesn’t suppress votes. It PROTECTS votes. And the Senate should put it to a VOTE.
