A 59-year-old Ironman athlete has just completed a run from Disneyland to Disney World! wndu.com/2021/04/08/59-…

@AllEarsNet Finished on April 5, 2021, after two COVID lockdown pauses, a funeral, thunderstorms, and everything but a plague of frogs. :-D Won't set any speed records but I get points for diligence. #KeepGoing

@billy69498363 @StreamingMagic At that time it was Disney policy to require them. I'd hate to run from one park to the other just to get kicked out for not following the rules. ;-)

Don Muchow ran from Disneyland to Disney World! We got to be there to cover his arrival at #DisneyWorld
Congrats to Don. What an inspiration!
English

@mikejt1954 @StreamingMagic Just while in the park. Not when out running. ;-)
English

@hauntscene @StreamingMagic haha! Actually the park WAS full that day due to covid limits, but they allowed me in. :-)
English

@StreamingMagic Plot twist - he couldn't get a reservation. :(
English

@lady_manor @StreamingMagic Love that ride! I went on It's a Small World, had a Mickey Ice Cream Bar, and then I had to get in another 15 miles to Kissimmee. But was magical!
English

@StreamingMagic They better have rewarded him with a go on Carousel of Progress.
English

@kevin_lisowe @StreamingMagic I'm not sure. Five years ago I was still training for Ironmans so I don't think so. But it did take about a year to research the route. Tell me about this other guy who set out to do it? I am not aware of any such effort. There was a guy in 2010 who planned to do it virtually....
English

@StreamingMagic This isn’t the same guy from like 5 years ago who set out to do this, is it? That would still beat my time though. 😂
English

@t1dleader Paul, thank you so much or spreading the word. I am humbled that the run meant as much to others as it did to me. #t1dtribe #t1dstrong

Can we get a collective type 1 cheer going today for the inspirational @DonMuchow (fellow t1) at 1-1:15pm eastern time as he finishes his run from Disneyland to Disney world 88 days of running - 32 miles per day. t1determined.org #GBDoc #inspirational
English

@KingdomPlanners P.S. I hope you got the chance to do the virtual run. I had a blast doing it IRL. :-) If you get a chance, reach out to me and I'll share my route.
English

@KingdomPlanners How for do you plan to run each day? Even if virtual, I'd recommend taking a rest day every 10 days to give your body a chance to heal. Distance between the parks is 2761 miles by the shortest route, so that's around 100 days total. Go for it! I will be rooting for you!

@PlanoMagazine Hey @PlanoMagazine ... finished the run after two COVID pauses, a funeral, and thunderstorms--finally! on April 5, 2021, around noon (finished at Atlantic coast April 7th 2021, 3:57 PM). Thank you for profiling the run! I thought you'd like to know the story's ending. :-)

On Feb. 1 #planotx resident Don Muchow will begin a 2,800-mile journey across the U.S., hoping to become the first person to run from Disneyland to Disney World, in an effort to spread awareness about Type 1 diabetes. bit.ly/3b0Xvr5

English

@zgore987 @DisneyParks Yes I was. You can see it in the picture. They did a temp check at the gate and the whole usual drill. Normally I don't run with it on unless there's a sandstorm (West Texas, I'm looking at you), but for the time in the park I definitely did.
English

When the first person to ever run 🏃 from Disneyland Resort to Walt Disney World Resort recently crossed the finish line at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida, Disney cast members celebrated the extraordinary accomplishment with some extra-special magic: bit.ly/3mMoexA 🎉

English

@DisneyParks Thanks @DisneyParks. Your whole team including Melissa V, Ash, Marisol, Ian(?) and countless others including the security guard with a family story involving #type1diabetes made it a magical and memorable day. Still can't believe it actually happened. <3 °O°
English

@DisneyNut1985 Hey all, thanks for the kind words. Just to clarify, it was 88 days of running. I did take a rest day about every 10 days, 2 days for bad weather, a week for my father's funeral, and we were forced to pause twice due to covid lockdowns. But @DisneyNut1985, thanks for sharing!
English

Since no one on #DisTwitter mentioned this yesterday, i will. Don Michow became the first person ever to run from Disneyland to Walt Disney World and done it in 88 days. He done it to bring awareness to type one diabetes.

We're not lazy, inactive or unmotivated. It's a disease, and we need a cure.

@achavez48 Well, since he resigned, ima suggest Brenda Hammond for mayor. She runs the diner in town and knows a little something about keeping paying customers happy.
English

@CephasKadiri @Public_Citizen No, thinking it would be cheaper to let sick people die is the problem. #problemswitheugenicsthinking
