Viktor Orban didn’t cancel any elections and never arrested people for social media posts. He also stepped down after his election loss and is partaking in a peaceful transfer of power. But, don’t forget, he was a dictator. Keir Starmer attempted to cancel about 1,000 local council elections next month and arrests about 12,000 people a year for social media posts. He also refused to let a rival run for a seat in a by-election because he was worried it would be a threat to his leadership. But, don’t forget, he’s a democratic leader.

Hey Dean Me again. 👋 Carney has his undergrad from Harvard. Not his masters. Not his PhD. You’re spreading misinformation. Again. He got his PhD from Oxford. Also, you wouldn’t know this, but I was going to take my PhD in Economics (my brother has his PhD in it), but what you learn in a PhD is an extreme narrow focus on a subject. It all leads to a dissertation at the end. ON THAT NARROW TOPIC. I see guys with their CFA, on here, that are LEVELS above Carney when it comes to economic clarity. Pierre is correct. Carney’s economic policies are horrendous & are reliant on uncontrolled spending which has to be paid via taxes. When it comes to the economy, Carney’s education doesn’t appear to be helping him or our country. Please Dean, stick to name calling, you’re better at that than speaking on education.

No. He is not progressive at all. left" in Hungary clearly haven't read the winner's platform. Péter Magyar is a former Orbán insider who's effectively out-nationalizing Orbán. He supports the razor-wire border fence and "security-first" migration. Like Orbán, he opposes sending weapons and is skeptical of fast-track EU membership for Kyiv. His slogan? "History is written in the streets, not Moscow, Brussels, or Washington. He didn't run as a leftist; he ran as a roght wing conservative who's better at being a nationalist than Orbán. The "global far-right" just traded an old model for a faster one. Magyar’s Tisza Party is centre-right and belongs to the European People's Party (EPP), the same group that once included Orbán's Fidesz. He has been criticized for "tactical alignment" with Orbán on sensitive issues. In the European Parliament, his party has voted with Fidesz nearly 50% of the time on issues like migration and opposition to rights/equality language. He famously wore a traditional Bocskai suit (associated with patriotic/nationalist symbolism) to rallies to prove he is "more Hungarian" than the incumbent. While he wants to restore EU relations to unlock funds, he maintains a "peace first" narrative on Ukraine that mirrors much of the current government's rhetoric to avoid being labeled a "pro-war" puppet of Brussels.
