Nathan was a Chinese Crested rescue dog from South Carolina, USA. He went through six foster homes in four years after his first owner passed away. By the time a rescue organisation called Bald is Beautiful took him in, he had stopped trusting people entirely. His forever home turned out to be his foster mum, who adopted him in 2012. She noticed early on that he had a thing for a particular green office chair, where he would stand on his back legs and shimmy. She filmed it. It went viral. He ended up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. But the videos everyone remembers are the ones with Grandma Tillie, his owner's mum, who used to play accordion in colourful overalls and a straw hat while Nathan danced on his hind legs beside her, using the high back of the chair for support and shaking his head to the music. Both Nathan and Grandma Tillie have since passed away.

Now that Artemis II has launched we have 10 days to get everyone on Earth a Planet of the Apes costume so we can do something hilarious when the astronauts return 😁

@DogDeskAction Dog breeding reform along with a ban on greyhound racing should ultimately lead to a situation where the number of adoptive homes available matches the dogs needing homes. We might even be in a position to offer more help to dogs from overseas too! Like Spanish hunting dogs. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
