Public demand for AI is actively going off of a cliff, and its usefulness in business is already being massively overestimated due to companies pushing it in order to make their shareholders happy. The only thing which could possibly require this much data processing and storage is mass surveillance. Considering the government has been rolling out surveillance measures for thirty years, you actually have to be stupid to find this to be conspiratorial.

AI is still dramatically underpriced for humanity. Right now less than 1% of the population is even directly paying for AI services or products. Within 10 years, it will be closer to 50% of the entire human population, meaning the TAM will grow 50x. The other thing is that people are not using a meaningful percentage of the AI that their true demand would actually be. Consider this: 1. Robotics 2. Entertainment 3. Medicine Just those three alone justify everyone using 1000x more compute than even the top power users are today. And that's being cautious. In 20 years, I think the "compute per capita" should actually be closer to 10 million to 100 million times higher. No one has fully priced what this means to humanity.
