Illinois needs to be looked at very closely. I'm two counties away from Cook County but am in the same congressional district as Cook County. My county is very red. I have zero representation.

Kamala won Massachusetts by 25 points Trump won Tennessee by 30 points Tennessee is more red than Massachusetts is blue Yet Republicans have ZERO representation in MA while Democrats get a seat in TN. How is this fair? After the SC ruling yesterday, @GovBillLee should redraw the maps immediately. Let’s go!

That was the first flight test of the upgraded W88 warhead (Alt 370), a night launch of a Trident II D5 ballistic missile for the US Navy Strategic Systems Program’s 26th Demonstration and Shakedown Operation (DASO-26), launched from USS Kentucky.

@USN_Submariner I lived there like 3 months before I even saw it… an elusive sight to see for sure, coming from the Midwest.

We all bemoan the idea of hosting a VIP after such a stint sea, but it is the right thing to do in these cases. The PM meeting them on their return leg is smart, as it doesn't delay them seeing family. I also believe he has met every returning CASD boat, which should be admired

On return from a record 205-day patrol yesterday, the crew of the submarine were lucky enough to receive a visit from the Prime Minister to welcome them home... navylookout.com/royal-navy-nuc…

@SSN_685 @TheStoicSailor We did a long run during change of home port from KB to Bangor… like very long. But 200 days is crazy.

As a retired submariner who did 19 patrols on US SSBNs, I’m a little conflicted in this. I will agree, that after 200+ days on patrol, it’s nice to be recognized. Almost all of my returns were just us tying up to the pier, maybe the squadron commodore, but that’s it. Even more rare was the days of family meeting us, before 9/11. A much better alternative than the commodore I will say. But on the other hand, you have to look at the responsibility he has or had in having them stay out so long. What is or can he do to change that? He will be the target of course. So mixed feelings. Overall though, I think it’s appropriate that the crew be recognized for something as extraordinary as this. As to who does the recognition, that’s the debatable part. Either way, nothing but respect for a submarine crew that does 200+ days without a port visit.

@marty_hogan Doesn’t matter, they are making up results anyways- or “rebaselining.” I’m just happy if I can hear it over my neck creaking and grinding.

Taken in 1999 flying into and out of Jacksonville International Airport. First time I visited was 1983. I remember thinking this is a nice base and I wouldn’t mind being stationed there. Not five years later…. 😂 I began a ten year stretch of two boats and shore duty.

I should’ve included this with yesterday’s post about Trench 94 at Hanford. Hopefully you can find your boat. It is a bit dated, but I haven’t seen an up-to-date listing in many years.
