I returned to Ogun State today with a full heart. What I saw in Iperu is the kind of progress we must insist on as a nation. Quite deliberate, and built to last. The Gateway Cargo Airport stands as proof of what is possible when vision is matched with discipline. As I said, “Our investment is about our people. Today’s foundation is for tomorrow’s prosperity.” I acknowledge Governor Dapo Abiodun @DapoAbiodunCON for his focus and consistency. Development is not about noise. It is about decisions that improve lives. From the aircraft launched today to the electric bikes, tractors, and security assets, this is what progress should look like. Practical, real, and visible. “Development must touch every level,” and I am pleased to see that principle taking shape in Ogun State. Our Renewed Hope reforms are not abstract. They have provided more resources for sub-nationals and are creating room for states to act and deliver. Many states, including Ogun, are rising to the moment. Ogun State has a rail masterplan. It’s part of the Multi-modal transportation masterplan unveiled last year. There is also a dry port in Kajola today, through which all the cement and other materials going to Ibadan and Lagos are transported by rail. We see this everyday. An MoU was signed with Lagos State government in 2024 to connect and extent the red and blue lines to Agbara and Ijoko. Funding is what’s causing the delay in execution. However, we need heavily reinforced roads more, a substantial part of good s manufactured here are consumed elsewhere, outside of the Lagos—Ogun—Oyo corridors.

EASTER TRAIN: Osun state government partners NRC to provide Free Train Ride from Lagos to Osogbo. The train departed Iddo station for Osogbo yesterday, April 3, 2026. The return journey from Osogbo back to Lagos is scheduled for April 6, 10am.

Our aviation vision for Ogun State goes beyond the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport. During his official visit on Saturday, President @officialABAT will also unveil Gateway Air, our new state airline, which will commence operations with two newly acquired aircraft to be managed by ValueJet, alongside the Cargo Facility.
