Passengers Inj¥red as Kaduna–Abuja Train derails after massive Collision
Fear and confusion gripped passengers on an early morning train journey from Kaduna to Abuja after a loud bang reportedly jolted the moving train to an abrupt stop, leaving several travellers inj¥red.
Eyewitnesses said the impact flung passengers across compartments, with many sustaining visible inj¥ries and bl+eding before emergency calm was gradually restored.
The train reportedly remained halted for about 30 minutes before resuming its journey towards Kubwa, sparking anxiety among those on board.
Initial reports suggest the incident may have resulted from a collision involving another train along the rail corridor, forcing a temporary suspension of operations on the route.
Some passengers expressed frustration over what they described as a lack of immediate communication from railway authorities following the incident.
Videos and images circulating online showed distressed travellers gathered along the tracks as railway personnel and bystanders assessed the situation.
While the full extent of inj¥ries and d@mage remains unclear, the disruption has raised fresh concerns about passenger safety and crisis response on one of Nigeria’s busiest rail routes.
Authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive statement on the cause of the incident or confirm casualty figures as investigations continue.

Dear Nigeria Railway Corporation (@info_NRC), I must commend your professionalism and I have enjoyed your services using the train from Lagos to Ibadan and Abuja to Kaduna.
Since I discovered the Lagos to Ibadan train, I have reduced my road trips from Lagos to Ibadan by 5%. On the few occasions when I opted to use the road, it was because there were no night journeys.
I think if the Corporation can adopt night journey through the Lagos to Ibadan route, Nigerians can comfortably live in Ibadan and travel to Lagos daily to work. This will decongest the population in Lagos.
However, this is not where I am going. You need to improve your services, passengers should be able to edit their tickets and change their travel schedules.
A lot of times, my schedule will change after buying a train ticket. Unfortunately, the ticket can't be opened or rescheduled for another date or time.
No refund policy, I agree with this, but ticket(s) booked should be open for amendment.
You need to improve your backend and invest more in your IT to ensure that passengers enjoy the flexibility of your services.
Passengers should be able to use their ticket(s) if their schedule changes possibly inserting a change period (timeframe).
I'm an apostle of the train services and I implore people to experience it. Safe, comfortable, and fun.
