It was milder today with more sunshine, and more "warmer" weather is in store for tomorrow too but with some showers or a storm late. See you at 11 on @abc27News for more!

#MeteorSighting: A very bright daylight fireball was observed by witnesses from the northeast U.S. and Canada this morning, March 17. An analysis of currently available data places first visibility of the meteor above Lake Erie. The fireball - caused by a small asteroid nearly 6 feet in diameter and weighing about 7 tons - moved southeast at 45,000 mph before fragmenting over Valley City. The fragments continued on to the south, producing meteorites in the vicinity of Medina County, Ohio. 🔗 go.nasa.gov/4bcMwMg Eyewitness accounts supplied by the American Meteor Society

A large daytime #fireball #meteor was reported over most of the Midwest this morning just before 9am EDT. The fireball was visible in daylight, left a vapor trail, created a loud sonic boom, and broke windows. This means it was a larger chunk of rock that entered the lower atmosphere, with fragments likely reaching the ground. The satellite image shows the flash detected by the Global Lightning Mapper, and the second map shows eyewitness reports . #ohwx

A lot is being said on social media about yesterday's Mid-Atlantic forecast. Scott, who I know well from our days at Penn State, nails it. 1.) Less severe weather is a good thing. 2.) We don't blindly follow others' forecasts @abc27News. We are meteorologists. We make our own.
Scott Dimmich@ScottDimmich

"We blew it, weather community! The MDT didn't verify!" Really? You don't have to agree with SPC. They have very talented forecasters; no doubt about it. But you don't have to agree with their forecasts. You can communicate your own analysis. Also, damage was minimal? GOOD.

We continue to monitor this line of storms over eastern York County and Lancaster County. This is the only severe storm in the area. We have learned that the Tornado Watch will be canceled early as the line of storms exits east.

Severe wind gusts up to 60 mph possible with this line of storms south of the state line. It will be heading northeast into far southeastern York County and ultimately southern Lancaster County in the next hour.
