@GMB the BBC is supposed to work for the public who pay the licence fee. It should not be in hock to advertisers or private corporations. It should be fixed so govt doesn't control it. But I would rather that than Rupert Murdoch.

@JeremyVineOn5 How about giving people jobs to do this and pay them with actual wages. People on benefits have to apply for dozens of jobs a week. Many of them have jobs already. Work related training gives people skills and opportunities. YTS gave gardening and decorating skills.

Should benefits claimants be made to pick litter? This is a suggestion from campaign group Clean Up Britain - they say jobseekers on universal credit should have to do four hours of litter picking a month or lose their benefits. What are your thoughts on this?
