(Why do so many people with 4a hair think they have 4b hair? What is happening? Does somebody have an actual answer of something that occurred. Does everyone just think they’re a curl size tighter than they really are?)

This is insane when actual hairstylists will tell you so many of us don’t even have 4c hair, it’s just dry hair that hasn’t been taken care of so curls are hiding in plain sight

The curl typing hair chart was created by Andre Walker, Oprah’s hair stylist from the 90’s, in order to to promote his haircare products. Initially it didn’t include “type 4” hair aka tighter coils, and when it did, stated that they required a relaxer. 🫤

One of my more controversial takes: I don’t believe in the hair type chart. There’s no room for nuance and black hair is so complex, and that’s why so many people are so confused and triggered by it because you’re trying to put your hair in a box and it’s more complex than that.

My hair has looked kinkier than the pic on rh right and more defined than the look on the left depending on what’s going on.

Alot of these girls dont realize that

In a society where how conventionally attractive you are has a DIRECT correlation to your quality of life can you really judge black women for not wanting to wear their hair in a state that has been chastised for generations ????
