A good way (although not one I recommend) to find out how good your backups are is to have your server develop an unrecoverable error so it needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

@chrisoprokop I have a packing list app on my phone so I can keep track of all the stuff to bring and things to do before leaving, and just check them off as they're packed/done. Otherwise my brain would be mush too.
