@eric_bellMB That should have been your initial post - sticking to a policy position, not a childish personal attack on a volunteer whom you don't know and who is engaged on a host of civic issues (and who is a prolific user of transit and bikes). Making it personal is beneath you.

@KroekerJeffrey Bike lanes make sense downtown. The hospitals supported them. They are fine, and it’s only an election issue for a small amount of people who are obsessed with their cars.

@ToonTownDano @tylermeredith Absloltuely. ISC has been a nightmare in terms of service since they were privatized. Saskatchewan people can expect worse service and higher fees. It’s a shit deal for what used to be a profitable crown corporation.

@tylermeredith Since the initial privatization the service has been horrible. My guess is Caisse is wanting to increase profitability. And that always comes at the expense of staffing. Which will mean even poorer service.

Canadian pension funds have been too cautious and avoidant of Canada for too long. Seeking more diversification at the risk of ignoring real opportunities in their own back yard - with no currency or political risk.
This is now slowly changing, thankfully.

Man I just saw the craziest sight here in Vancouver. Some guy at the Shoppers Drug Mart filled up a shopping basket absolutely full of candies and chips and other snacks and things and then just confidently strolled right out the front door. I told the old guy stocking the shelves, and he was like, “yeah and that’s not even the worst. I once saw someone walk out with a 50 inch TV.” He said sometimes the security guards do something, if they are authorized to make arrests, but usually not. He was from the Philippines. “Canadian law says you can’t touch them or that’s assault. Back home the guards have guns and they’d just shoot them.”

The Saskatchewan Federation of Labour Supreme Court decision of 2015 gave Canadian workers the constitutional right to strike. We should be removing designations of essential services and not adding more. Any expansion must be fought against and defied if necessary.

If reality, all this whining is just going to convince parties to end contested nominations full stop. They're too expensive in money, volunteer resources, and negative attention. They'll just appoint candidates. Carney's team has realized this and no one seems to care.

Sask sold off ISC for a fraction of this a decade ago. It used to send millions back to Sask people annually as a crown corporation. Now a US company will be in control of people’s personal and property records. Privatization sucks ass.
