2019: The last time Washington opened the season in Philadelphia. Terry McLaurin had 5 catches, 125 yards and a TD in his NFL debut. He’s been Washington’s WR1 ever since.

Beyond thrilled to announce I’m the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s new Falcons beat writer. It’s a true blessing, and a privilege I don’t take lightly. The @ajc has always been the standard and the dream. Let’s roll. AGTG.

I actually think Ben Sinnott doesn’t make the 53 just my opinion. It’ll come down to Ben or Colson Yankoff and who can make more of an impact offensively while also contributing on special teams.
On The Fence Podcast@theotfpodcast

DEBATE: I think alot of #Commanders fans are evaluating Ben Sinnott like he’s supposed to be Zach Ertz 2.0 …. when that’s not his role at all. Sinnott is arguably the best move blocker/lead blocking TE on the roster and is integral to the power run game. He’s more of an offensive chess piece/H-back than a volume receiving TE. Kliff barely used true power concepts or 13 personnel last year, so of course fans didn’t “see” much out of him. That doesn’t mean he isn’t valuable. Not every TE’s success is measured by receptions. #RaiseHail

The EDGE position has become one of the premier and most valuable positions in modern football. What was once viewed primarily as a traditional defensive end role has evolved into a versatile hybrid position built around disruption, athleticism, and positional flexibility. Today’s EDGE defenders are expected to do far more than simply rush the passer. They must: ✅ Pressure the quarterback ✅ Set the edge in the run game ✅ Win one-on-one matchups ✅ Create negative plays ✅ Rush from multiple alignments ✅ Drop in coverage when needed ✅ Disrupt protections and offensive timing ✅ Counter different pass sets and protections ✅ Maintain rush lane integrity ✅ Finish plays in space against elite athletes The evolution of spread offenses, mobile quarterbacks, RPO systems, tempo offenses, and pass-heavy attacks forced defenses to adapt. As a result, modern EDGE defenders have become true game changers capable of impacting every phase of the game. Whether aligned as a tight 5-technique, a Wide 9 speed rusher, standing up off the edge, or reducing inside into a 4i alignment, elite EDGE players create matchup problems offenses must account for on every snap. The modern EDGE rusher combines: • Explosiveness • Power • Flexibility • Hand usage • Leverage • Technique • Football IQ • Positional versatility • Rush sequencing and counters • Functional strength at the point of attack What separates elite EDGE defenders is their ability to consistently disrupt timing, collapse the pocket, and force offenses to alter protection schemes, slide protections, chip with tight ends or backs, and speed up the quarterback’s internal clock. From players who win with elite speed and bend to those who dominate through power, leverage, violence with their hands, and physicality at the point of attack, the EDGE position now represents one of the most dynamic and impactful roles in football. In today’s game, defenses are built around players who can affect the quarterback without needing extra blitzers and elite EDGE defenders do exactly that. One position. Endless impact.
