Trade deficits aren’t subsidies.
And the trade deficit with Canada is about $46 billion, not $200 billion.
We will never have parity with Canada because it’s a low population country with things we need. They can’t match our consumerism.

The totality of the Jones Act is probably one of the only things I break from the tariff cabal on; American shipbuilding is massively behind economic & logistical realities, and it is perfectly reasonable to modify the act to only require domestic crewing & flagged.

This is a high IQ concept. However, the spending side must to be addressed before we deal with the revenue side.
In the same way the private sector won’t push for lower revs while liabilities are constant or ballooning.

“Jeff Bezos says low earners in the US should pay zero tax” I actually agree this this with some nuance on implementation: Low earners should be allowed to deduct all their living expenses before paying tax. Just like how the wealthy are able to write off a lot of things as business expenses or tax sheltered structures: Majority of “living costs” for low income citizens come from rent, healthcare, food, gas, car loans/college tuition, kids, etc. Even after all that they’re paying tax on their original income. Feels a little stupid to have low income earners owe money after just trying to live.

We just introduced a long overdue joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment to require Members of Congress, federal judges, and Senate-confirmed officers to be natural born citizens. This is the very same standard the President and Vice President are already required to meet.
The people writing America's laws, confirming America's judges, and representing America on the world stage should have one loyalty: America. Not any other country.
For too long we have allowed foreign born members to hold seats in this government while making clear they are America last, not America first. We see it every day. This constitutional amendment will put an end to it.
