We don’t need new arguments for Scottish independence. The reason has been the same since 1707:
No one, no institution, government, company, or committee, has the right to decide Scotland’s future except the people of Scotland.
If you deny that principle, you deny Scots are your equal.

I worry about the lack of teacher / school leader voice at educational events. Worryingly we have people who have never done the job, have read some papers on the job or performed the job for 30 seconds touted as experts in their field. We should view this with absolute caution.

@JimSpenceDundee School Teachers were once respected in the community they had terms and conditions not prohibitive of after school curricular and they had particularly in Sport opportunities to actually promote those of less academic ability.

There are tennis courts lying barely used all over Scotland. I’d be sad to see it but its clear that there’s been no Andy Murray legacy and those courts would be ideal for conversion into small pitches to encourage football skills of the old street variety.

Bodo/Glimt's big European moment is a good time to reflect on the investment in Norwegian youth football. Norway is now one of Europe’s top producers of elite players (think Haaland and Odegaard) with U21 domestic minutes in the top division dwarfing that of size equivalents such as the Scottish Premiership. Copying from the Icelandic model, investment has been placed into mini-pitches to encourage “street football”. With 94% of mini-pitches located on school grounds, heavily used during school hours, breaks, and evenings, often until 11pm! Seems to be a new fashion for doing 2 NPA courses in a year. Each course was designed to take an entire year. Teachers continue to make things hard for themselves. One smart arse thinks they can drag kids through a course in ½ the time, the rest of us quickly are forced to follow

Curriculum for Excellence was meant to encourage a BROAD range of subjects and learning. All I see is kids getting their subjects narrowed down by S2 and their future paths settled by S3

The obvious solution is to increase wages for teacher in "in demand" subjects. It's ridiculous that a Physics teacher is paid the same as a PE teacher

@Katejsm1 Boohoo the PE teacher had to go to a football match. Hardly the same as delivering advanced higher physics. Minimum wage should be the maximum for PE teachers. Low paid jobs for zero skills professions

@DouglasRob0 Teaching is a lot more than concocting lesson plans. PE, for example, requires out of school hours for training and matches, not something normally required of Physics teachers.
Once you start making value judgments about subjects you end up with chaos and division.
