During the past month, my friend @KariLisonbee has been encouraged by Republicans, conservatives and moderates alike, to run for the new conservative Northern Utah Congressional District (CD2). During the past several months, I’ve also been encouraged by Republicans, conservatives and moderates alike, to run for the new blue Salt Lake Congressional District (CD1). As flattered as I’ve been by the vote of confidence that my network has in me as a viable candidate, I’ve been consistently saying that Blake Moore, who lives in SLC, has the best chance of defending this seat for the GOP. I’ve made the decision to not run. Considering that Blake lives in SLC, and considering he co-sponsored Prop 4 that led to this 2026 Utah Congressional map, I was hoping that Blake would raise his hand to defend CD1 for the GOP. It looks like he’s filed to run for the Northern Utah district. Karianne has also decided to run to represent the community she lives in. I know her to be a hard-working conservative woman of high character, strong backbone, big brains and heart. I believe that Republican voters living in Cache, Box Elder, Weber, Davis, and Rich counties will become Team Karianne over the coming months! Let’s go!

Going through data on the Utah Legislature's recent session, and we've got an outlier.
Guess which legislator voted with his/her party only 47% of the time? (Everyone else was above 90%).
This legislator also voted "nay" 54% of the time. (Next highest was only 23%.)
