“F*ck DatPiff” - Lil Wayne in 08
Back in 2008, before his legendary run as the king of mixtapes, Lil Wayne didn’t believe in the mixtape game.
At the time, he saw it as bootlegging, something that was hurting his money. Unofficial mixtapes were everywhere, especially on DatPiff, where Wayne tapes were dominating the charts.
But shortly after, he had a realization…
Those mixtapes weren’t hurting him, they were building him. Expanding his reach, growing his fanbase, and turning him into a global force.
He leaned into the culture, embraced it, and even apologized to KP and DatPiff, admitting he didn’t understand it at first.
That shift changed everything.
Without it, “Mixtape Weezy” would’ve never existed.
From there, Wayne and DatPiff released 5 projects together, along with 14 releases across Young Money over the next decade.
A reminder that sometimes what looks like a problem… is actually the opportunity.

@Whats_the_dirt Wayne dropped no ceilings, rebirth, IANAHB, and Young money album before he dropped Carter 4….. I was disappointed he didn’t sell 1 million but i knew he was doing close to that in his week sells.

The case took an unexpected turn when the compromising photos that Dylan found were released to the public during the trial. These images, which were used as evidence, were found by Dylan and his older brother Corey on their father’s laptop while he was asleep.
The brothers viewed these photos in a locked bathroom, and Corey even used his phone to capture these images.
Mark Redwine’s relationship with his family was already strained before the incident. He was twice divorced and was in a custody battle over Dylan with his ex-wife, Elaine.
Dylan had expressed his discomfort and unwillingness to visit his father multiple times, especially after discovering the disturbing photos.
Interestingly, Mark Redwine was aware that his older son, Corey, had seen the photos and even received a text from Corey revealing that he knew about the photos.
The defense argued that Dylan ran away and was likely killed by a bear or another animal. This theory was presented despite the fact that Dylan had previously confronted his father about the photos and didn’t get hurt.
However, the jury didn’t buy this argument, and Mark Redwine was eventually convicted for the murder of his son.
