@MarioNawfal what does this mean or look like “I’ve always said I want the U.S. to win the AI arms race, as I do not want to live in a world where AI is controlled by an autocracy “ ?

In January, I was the loudest voice on X criticizing the Iranian regime. Result? All regime supporters flooded my comments calling me a ‘zionist’ and an ‘Israeli asset’ Now, as I criticize this war (I’ve always been anti-war), some pro Israeli hawks voices are labeling me a ‘regime sympathizer’ The same happened during the Gaza war: I got called both a zionist and an anti semite, and received death threats from both sides Here’s my stance so you don’t have to guess: - Very critical of the Iranian regime. What they did in January was horrific - The current war is a mistake, and if the objective is regime change, then I am very worried about Iran’s future as risks of civil war increase - I am very critical of what Israel did in Gaza and the West Bank, and more nuanced on their attacks on Hezbollah and Iran - I believe Hezbollah should be disarmed - The U.S. objective in this war is control of the Strait of Hormuz, to beat China in the AI race. I’ve always said I want the U.S. to win the AI arms race, as I do not want to live in a world where AI is controlled by an autocracy - As an Australian citizen, I am a believer in our democratic way of life and have always been critical of anyone threatening democracies (EU, Brazil, Pakistan). But this does not mean I support the various interest groups pushing our world into endless wars - As the son of a religious Christian family, I respect all religions, but don’t think religion should ever justify wars Did I miss anything?
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

Why am I against this war? As someone who's been EXTREMELY critical of the Iranian regime, so much so I was labeled 'zio' by many, I've always advocated AGAINST regime change through military means The reason is simple: In over 100 years, there's been ZERO successful regime change operations without boots on the ground And we're seeing this play out right now: The Iranian regime's grip on power has strengthened under bombardment, and they've become even more brutal in suppressing dissent If the U.S. conducted a very limited military operation to give Iranians the chance to bring down the regime, then maybe I would have been supportive (assuming the country does not descend into civil war) But seeing Iran get bombed daily, Israel and the region get attacked, U.S. troops die, and the global economy cater... this is not what I envisaged for 2026. I want the U.S. to win against China I want the regime to fall I want Iran to be a democracy I want Hezbollah's military arm gone I want Lebanon and Iran to normalize with Israel But a prolonged war with Iran is NOT the way to achieve any of these goals

@Dpzle @Osi_Suave We should rather export the asphalt and bitumen And make our roads with concrete. It's Cheaper in the long run, More durable and suitable for the weather and population Also isn't NIGERIA a big producer of Limestone which is a key ingredient of Cement/Concrete ?

🇨🇳 CHINA'S ROAD-BUILDING HACK: 60 YEARS, NO CRACKS They sandwich a waterproof sheet between layers of concrete and asphalt. This genius move forces rainwater into side drains, keeping the foundation bone-dry. No moisture. No cracks. No collapse. The result? Roads that look brand new decades later. Source: Crazy Facts

Bullshitter a descent of 2,600 feet in 10 minutes in a plane is generally not considered bad, especially if it's part of a normal approach to landing. This rate of descent translates to 260 feet per minute, which is well within the typical range for commercial airliners during descent

Im not Yoruba, but to say Yorubas are cowards has to be the funniest thing i have heard this morning. The old oyo empire around the 17th to 18th century exerted control all the way to dahomey, present day republic of Benin and parts of that republic still speak yoruba to this very day, a race of cowards will be concerned with preserving their little hamlets and villages. In modern-day history, Adekunle Fajuyi, a yoruba man, gave his life to protect his commander in chief, Ironsi, again that isn't cowardice. The modern-day talk of Rora is simply to be aware and to know what battles to fight and the ones to leave alone. I believe the pastor can preach a sermon calling people to have courage without ascribing any form of tribal slant to it.

I’ll say a few things… 1. The anger, the hate, the love, the applause, the criticism, all of it is valid and I embrace it. 2. I am a world record holder which means I have attained something no one else in the world has ever done. I was recently honored and awarded by the city of New York. To be honored and received by the President and the highest office in my own country for this reason is not a crime. (It is not even a national honor by the way). I have declined many awards. Comparing me to people who have received awards and recognition from countries that have committed war crimes is at best laughable. 3. I have no interest in partisan politics because of the sensitivity of the work that I do. If that ever changes, then I would resign my role as CEO of chess in slums Africa. 4. The rhetoric that Chess in slums only exists or is relevant because of bad governance is not accurate. The real impact of our work is in the synapses. We’re using chess as a tool to teach cognition and improve academic outcomes. Using it as a social intervention tool is because those children have fallen through the cracks and cannot make it to the classrooms. This is not charity or “NGO”. What most of you measure as the most tangible impact is we just dignifying the stories of the children you see all the time on the streets but pay no attention to. The real impact here is ensuring they have the critical capacity to think for themselves and putting them through formal or vocational education. I continue to consult with educational institutions and tech companies around the world, so my work will always be relevant and whatever resource or influence that gives me, I will use all of it to serve the children who deserve a place in the world as well. 5. A visit is not an endorsement. I will visit many more people and will continue to sell my chess boards. 6. You may not understand my intentions or character because the only thing you know about me is what I let on social media. But reputation is not character. It’s been 10 long years of staying with this one thing, so I know for a fact that I have earned the benefit of the doubt. 7. Again, I embrace the love and the hate. But I care for none of it. In a decade or two, the Chess/STEM institute will stand and it will be a place where thousands of children will dream again and be educated in a way that makes them valuable to the world. All the strong opinions we have now falls flat in the face of this. 8. Finally, I appreciate everyone who has ever supported the incredible work we’ve done in the last 7 years. We have never applied or received any international grants in this time. 9. We’ve been working with the Lagos state government for about a year now to take kids from Jakande and Isale Eko off the streets. One of them recently graduated from furniture school and is living again. Our collective hurt is valid and we may disagree on politics but there are actual lives at stake and we all have a role to play in whatever capacity to stop this hemorrhage. Yes we will partner with the government to scale this impact and institutionalize it so Tunde stops being the hero of the story. It’s your tax anyway. 10. Finally I’d say this, My fight is different. I’m not on the fence. I took a stand 10 years ago for the country I want to see. The truth is I will do many more things that may challenge your perception of me, but I know my heart is in the right place and whatever rooms my vision gives me access to, I will put the dreams and needs of the children first. I live for the audience of one, and that is enough. -Tunde Onakoya

Can’t happen. All BAT needs to do is target the refinery, import fuel, empower BUA to the highest degree and dismantle DG. For Tony, target Heirs, his oil facility and use CBN to disturb UBA with regulations. For starters.
