So in conclusion, looking at the totality of data from RCTs of RF/Ultrasound renal denervation, these devices produce important reductions in BP compared to control. They are now supported for clinical use by US FDA and the European Society of HT guidelines. Part of the mix now.

Pleasure working with the York Health Economics Consortium to produce a systematic review and meta analysis of RCTs of renal denervation to date, following the rules of the Cochrane handbook. Published just now in @JHypertension

The recent introduction of QFR has generated some excitement in our catheterization laboratory, which is always eager for innovations. Evenly divided between skeptics and over-enthusiasts, today I followed with concern the moment when an attempt was made to confirm a QFR value of 0.62 using RFR. I was right to be afraid because the RFR value was... 0.93, and the percentage of skeptics suddenly approached 100%. I tried to convey that, to the best of my knowledge, since these methodologies have never been compared, there is no indication anywhere that the QFR value was wrong and the RFR value was right. Perhaps it's the exact opposite. But then: what does "right" or "wrong" mean in these matters? I've drawn a lesson from this: choose ONE physiological index for your procedure and stick to it. eurointervention.pcronline.com/article/functi…
