When we think of CT angio we usually think of risk stratification, prevention and diagnosis. But CT angio can also be used to plan your PCI procedures ! Dr. Evan Shlofmitz and I discuss how it can be used for stent sizing, stent length to assure you are stenting from normal to normal vessel walls (not lumens) and other advantages. s/b Heartflow clinicaltrialresults.org/when-we-think-…

A strong thread ran through #EuroPCR 2026: how to better prevent, anticipate and solve complications in daily practice. “Learning by sharing” remains one of the foundations of interventional cardiology, and we could see it everywhere in the Course - across LIVE cases, case-based discussions, Learning Sessions and practical workshops. The focus remained firmly on what matters most in the cathlab: decision-making, preparation, and learning from real-world complexity. At the same time, it was encouraging to see the continued growth of late-breaking science and research, something which is increasingly a focus for us as Course Directors. I was particularly pleased to see the enthusiasm around two new additions shaped directly by educational needs expressed by our community: the Calcium Skills Lab and the dedicated CTO track. The level of engagement throughout both was remarkable. Thank you to the 12,147 participants and presenters who made these exchanges possible. And a special thank you to all the faculty for their dedication to ensuring the best possible education for all! @CuissetDr @nicolasdumonte1 @PCRonline #interventionalcardiology #science #clinicalresearch #cardioed

🔥 NOW ONLINE 🔥simultaneous presentation #EuroPCR PECTUS-OBS LONG TERM FOLLOW-UP In this study, OCT-identified high-risk non-culprit plaques with negative FFR were associated with a significantly higher risk of long-term adverse cardiovascular events after myocardial infarction. At 5 years, patients with at least one high-risk plaque had increased rates of non-fatal MI and unplanned revascularization despite non-flow limiting physiology. 🔗eurointervention.pcronline.com/article/long-t… @RickVolleberg @NielsRoyen @RGeuns

🔎 Can OCT identify vulnerable plaques even when FFR is negative? @RickVolleberg discusses the key findings of the PECTUS-obs study with @NicolaRyan, presented today at #EuroPCR. Simultaneously published in EuroIntervention, the study shows that high-risk plaques identified by #OCT in FFR-negative non-culprit lesions are associated with worse long-term clinical outcomes after MI.
