If anyone happens to have any references to cuts or rashes caused by shaving in the 17th or 18th centuries, particularly in letters or diaries, I would be very grateful.

Price of hotels/travel to Oxford is ridiculous. For a train to get me there in time for first panel of BSECS conference it’s £264. Premier Inn have put their rooms (usually 60 or 70 quid) up to 150 per night. So for 2 nights plus train, looking at nearly £600.
