Parity is not a different winner usually every year. Parity is every team, regardless of financial resources or market size, having the same path or the same chance to form a championship-winning team. Small markets simply cannot do that right now, these teams and honestly every team, just do not have even remotely the same financial resources to make up for any development, drafting, or IFA mistakes. No team does.

The Eagles spend more cash than most teams in the NFL, and while that's part of their advantage, the bigger part is spending on the right players. If they gave Calvin Ridley $100 million instead of AJ Brown, we're not talking about how unfair the league is.

Nobody wants to hear it but the difference between the Phillies and the Dodgers isn't money, it's how much more efficiently they've spent their money at the major league level and how they've developed their farm. A lockout and a salary cap isn't changing either of those things.

Yes, this is a “trade,” but will result in LA getting arguably the best pitcher in baseball for free…prior to signing him in 27.
