Some news 🧠!! Very pleased to be moving to the Department of Psychiatry @UniofOxford, where I will work with the new @CercaMagnetics OPM-MEG system and hopefully develop some cool analysis 💻 methods for real-world neuroscience :)

Back again looking at some neurogenesis in the developmental brain! Newborn neurons in 🟣 (dcx marker) are slowly starting to mature and express markers of fully developed neurons (🔵, map2 marker). Astrocytes in🟠(Gfap marker) and microglia in🔴(Iba1 marker) are also present! Image taken with our confocal from @zeiss_micro.

Lafora disease should always be considered in the DD of progressive, myoclonic, refractory epilepsy.
We’ve recently diagnosed at @CentDinoFerrari a novel LD patient carrying a EPM2B variant never described in homozygosity before, and showing unusual findings at muscle biopsy.
