I underestimated how many of you yearn to Retvrn to Urkel. You feel you live in a mediascape where everything is engineered to degrade you, and you are right to feel this way, but that does not mean you need to go to bat for Danny Tanner. Watch Seinfeld or Frasier or Cheers or Cosby if you must, but TGIF was always crapola, and the people making it at the time knew it. My point was that now my kids can watch Outdoor Boys, black and white movies, nature docs -- it's all there. They will never know what it's like to flip channels for twenty minutes and say "Ugh, I guess I'll watch "The Hughleys." Many things are worse now, but it's OK to think that something has gotten better.

Univ. of Texas professor was dismissed from an administrative post overseeing university academic affairs because of ideological differences. Texas is targeting professors who are more focused on pushing leftist ideologies rather than preparing students to lead our nation.
